Sedra N. Allison

Ms. Allison is a MAP Underwriter and Real Estate Paralegal and has been with HFC Funding since 2006.  She is experienced in underwriting and processing FHA-insured multifamily loan applications under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Multifamily Accelerated Processing Program.

Her responsibilities include the determination of the acceptability of the borrower and their team as an FHA mortgagor through evaluation of sponsors and key principals of the borrower.  These evaluations include review of Sponsor’s credit, financial condition, experience level, and operating history.  Ms. Allison also reviews and analyzes third-party reports including Market Studies, Cost Estimates, Environmental Site Assessments, Appraisals, Surveys and Title Reports and determines key terms of the loan including mortgage amount, maximum amortization (streamline refinances), and interest rates.

Formerly, Ms. Allison worked as a Real Estate Paralegal with Watkins & Eager, PLLC (formerly Taylor, Covington & Smith, P.A.) of Jackson, Mississippi.  In her capacity there, she independently facilitated FHA and conventional multifamily real estate loan closings.  These closings included conventional recourse loans, as well as HUD 221(d)(4), 232, 202/811, 223(f) 223 (a)(7) and Transfer of Physical Assets of HUD insured loans. This position encompassed legal document preparation/review, calculating closing costs, taking dictation, preparing title insurance policies, and coordinating closing dates with clients, HUD and lenders. Supervision of escrow accounts, dispersion of funds for construction draws, and created and maintained a cohesive and productive work environment with colleagues, attorneys and clients, ensuring timeliness and efficiency.

Ms. Allison was a sudent of Xavier University, New Orleans, LA  and in 1991 graduated from Jackson State University, Jackson, MS.  She receive her degree in Paralegal Studies from Belhaven College, Jackson, MS in 2001.

Additionally, Ms. Allison has successfully completed MAP Underwriter Training in Washington, DC, and received a Certificate of Completion from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Lender Qualification and Monitoring Division.
